AMANDA ADOLFSSON

 
 

AMANDA ADOLFSSON has a BA in film directing from Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts. After graduation, Amanda made the short “Spending the night” which competed at the Berlinale 2008. Her debut feature “Young Sophie Bell”, which she co-wrote was released in cinemas in Sweden 2015. Félice Jankell was nominated at Sweden’s leading film awards Guldbaggen (Swedish Academy Award) for Best Female Actor, for her performance as Sophie.

In recent years, Amanda has directed TV-series such as the drama-comedy ”Bonusfamiljen” for SVT, the youth drama ”Eagles” for SVT, and the crime series ”Bäckström” för TV4/CMORE.

Amanda’s second feature ”Nelly Rapp - Monsteragent” is a family film, produced by SF Studios, based on bestseller Martin Widmarks books about Nelly Rapp. The film premiered in 2020 and was nominated for five different categories at the Guldbaggen (Swedish Academy Award), and won in two of the categories. Amanda is currently working as the lead director on Barracuda Queens premiering on Netflix in 2023
