Amanda Adolfsson
Amanda Adolfsson has a BA in film directing from the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts. After graduation, she made the short film Spending the Night, which competed at the Berlinale in 2008. Her debut feature, Young Sophie Bell, was released in cinemas in Sweden in 2015, and the actor Félice Jankell was nominated for Best Female Actor at the Guldbagge Awards (the Swedish Academy Awards) for her performance in the film.
In recent years, Amanda has directed TV series such as the drama-comedy Bonusfamiljen for SVT, the youth drama Eagles for SVT, and the crime series Bäckström for TV4/C More.
Amanda’s second feature, Nelly Rapp – Monsteragent, is a family film produced by SF Studios, based on Martin Widmark’s bestselling books about Nelly Rapp. The film premiered in 2020 and was nominated in five different categories at the Guldbagge Awards, winning two of them. Amanda also worked as the lead director on Barracuda Queens, which premiered on Netflix in 2023.
