ANDERS HAZELIUS is a Swedish director and screenwriter. After studying Philosophy, Art and Film, Anders continued to study Directing at The Gothenburg Film School (Valand Academy), graduating in 2010.
Anders is currently in post production as conceptual director for “Scener efter ett äktenskap” (Scenes after a marriage) for Viaplay, written by Veronica Zacco and starring Eva Röse, Danny Saucedo and Ardalan Esmaili. The series is produced by Anna-Klara Carlsten for B Reel Films.
Apart from that, he is in development with a film adaption of an international bestselling book, as screenwriter and director.
Anders is the director for the Netflix feature "FOREVER", produced by SF Studios to be released 2023. The movie follows two best friends who share a deep love for football but drifts apart when one of them is determined to go pro, while the other realizes there might be more to life than sports.
In June 2023, the news about an upcoming feature called “Alla mina namn” (All of my names) was released, with Anders serving as director and produced by long time collaborator of his; Anna-Klara Carlsten of B Reel Films. Anders work includes critically acclaimed and hugely successful tv series “Tunna blå linjen / The Thin Blue Line” (season 1 and 2), written and created by Cilla Jackert and produced by Anagram for SVT. The series, set in today's Malmö in a fictitious setting, tells the deep and complex stories of six police officers at work and their daily lives. The series, which was compared with both "Hill Street Blues" and "The Wire", won in 2021 the most prestigious Swedish "Kristallen" award for the best drama series (Swedish Emmy). The series also went on to receive a nomination for the Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize. For the second season of "Tunna blå linjen/The Thin Blue Line" which was released in the fall of 2022 on SVT, Anders directed episodes 1 and 2. The series was recently renewed by SVT for a season 3.
Recent projects also include Amy Deasismont's drama series "Thunder In My Heart" premiered in May 2021, produced by B-Reel Films for Viaplay. Anders was the conceptual director of the series, which follows a group of young friends as they get older and struggle to meet the unexpected demands of adulthood. The series won "Best Actress" (Amy Deasismont) at Kristallen and was nominated for "Best Drama Series" 2021.
Anders is drawn to warm and human stories with a focus on the interpersonal but does not mind a dash of suspense or comedy. A playful crossing of genres has been present through his line of work. He enjoys working on his own projects as a screenwriter and director, but also as a concept or episodic director in collaboration with others.
Anders is also developing new projects as creator and director, for both film and tv.
