Anders Hazelius is a Swedish director and screenwriter. After studying philosophy, art and film, Anders continued to study directing at the Gothenburg Film School (Valand Academy), graduating in 2010.
Anders is the director of the Netflix feature film Forever, produced by SF Studios and released in 2023. In 2023, news of an upcoming feature called Alla mina namn (All of My Names) was released, with Anders serving as director. The film is a fictional drama based on the life of Eurovision star Tusse Chiza.
His work includes the critically acclaimed and hugely successful TV series Tunna blå linjen/The Thin Blue Line (seasons 1 and 2). The series, set in modern-day Malmö with a fictitious premise, tells the deep and complex stories of six police officers both at work and in their daily lives. In 2021, the series won the most prestigious Swedish Kristallen award for Best Drama Series. It also went on to receive a nomination for the Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize. Other projects include Amy Deasismont's drama series Thunder In My Heart, which premiered in 2021 with Anders as the series’ conceptual director.
Anders is drawn to warm, human stories with a focus on interpersonal relationships, but he does not mind a dash of suspense or comedy. A playful crossing of genres has been a constant throughout his body of work. He enjoys working on his own projects as a screenwriter and director, as well as serving as a concept or episodic director in collaboration with others.
Currently, Anders is developing new projects as a creator and director for both film and TV.
