ARTUR BAGHERI

Artur Bagheri (b.1998) is a screenwriter, author and poet who has worked in several journalistic areas, including SVT and Radio P3, until he decided to follow his lifelong dream – writing.

Whether it dwells into drama or comedy, Artur loves to portray marginalized communities, diaspora and its people since these portrayals have historically not been three-dimensional enough. Not necessarily that they should be flawless, but rather, that they should be raw and real. This is something he feels has always been missing from mainstream representation.

In 2019 after studying journalism in Phoenix, Arizona he started off at SVT as researcher and editor for several cultural and societal programs (eg. PSL, Kulturnyheterna, SVT Opinion, Radio P3/Munck Studios). He also helped with the writing for the hiphop-forum Dopest.

2021 he worked as an editor for the Number 1-podcast "Sex & Fördom" (Acast/A&F Production) as well as working as a writing-mentor for "Spotify SoundUp".

In addition, Artur is also a poet. In 2022, parts of his poetry collection Notes of the prince was chosen to be featured at the ACT YOUNG’S poetry performance where he got to read at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm during the International Poetry Festival. This year, Artur won first place in the prestigious Tensta Konsthalls Textpris and he was interviewed and featured in 20:tal’s literary magazine’s eight number. Artur’s writing style is based on two different sides that characterize him, and can be described as a cocktail between the militant and the romantic.

Currently, Artur is writing a Young Adult biographical series based on the life of Swedish rapper Imenella and is together with Alexander Abdallah writing a feature for Alex’s first feature directing debut. Artur is also, together with Helmon Solomon, co-creating a surrealistic romantic comedy-drama.
