Magnus Jonsson is an author and a teacher. He was born and raised in Södermalm, Stockholm, which is where his thriller series about the fearless Linn Ståhl takes place.

The Hate Trilogy, beginning with The Man Who Played with Dolls (2016) and ending with The Woman Who Hunted Alone (2019), has sold over 100,000 copies in Sweden, with foreign rights sold to several countries.

Magnus’s latest novel, The Human Traffickers, was published in 2024, following the novel Dark Paradise (2023).

The cryptographer Linn Ståhl is working on her PhD thesis at KTH when the criminal investigation department contacts her and asks for help with an investigation into a gruesome murder. A young woman has been found murdered in a flat in Södermalm, Stockholm, and has been carefully arranged to look like a porcelain doll.

Linn has been a member of Antifascist Action, an organisation blacklisted by SÄPO, and has previously been convicted of offences against national security.
