Pompe Hedengren is an artist and artistic director. Curiosity and passion drive him to create new exhibitions, films, books, and digital works.

Together with his artistic team, he has won 61 international awards so far. The clients include the Royal Opera, the National Museum, the Concert Hall, the Nordic Museum, Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, and the Modern Museum.

Pompe’s first book, The Aquanauts, was published in 2021. His latest work is Witches, published by Bonnier Fakta in 2025.

Witches chronicles the history of sorcery, examining the Swedish witch trials broadly while focusing on the phenomenon of The Great Noise. Through haunting fictional photographs, readers encounter the challenging gazes of the victims. Alongside these mesmerising images runs the factual narrative of one of the most profound judicial tragedies in Swedish history.

The production label Mylla Films – founded by Midsommar Producer Patrik Andersson and NonStop Entertainment CEO Jakob Abrahamsson – is currently developing the series The Aquanauts together with Pompe Hedengren.

The series is "an ambitious eco sci-fi series about two female scientists looking for a new and potentially dangerous human species in the depths of the valley of Lake Siljan in Dalarna, Sweden". Andersson said the show was going to be reminiscent of movies such as Annihilation and Avatar."
