Amir Chamdin
Amir Juan Chamdin is an award-winning filmmaker from Stockholm, celebrated for his distinctive voice across feature films, television series, music videos, stage productions and documentaries. His work is driven by a deep passion for storytelling, music, and bold visual expression.
Chamdin's early breakthrough came through directing music videos for Infinite Mass (where he also performed), leading to his 2004 MTV Award win for Best Music Video for The Cardigans' "You're the Storm". Today, Chamdin’s music videos have surpassed 100 million views, and include collaborations with, for example, the chart-topping band Ghost. He has established himself as a key creative voice and a recognised name within the genre.
Chamdin has also worked as a ballet director and librettist on Gustavia, which premiered at the Royal Swedish Opera. It has been recognised as one of the most successful ballet productions ever staged at the theatre.
He has directed the biographical drama Börje – The Journey of a Legend, as well as directed and created the hit thriller series Partisan, which won the Best Series at Canneseries and was selected as one of the best international TV series of the year by Variety.
Chamdin’s cinematic debut was the black-and-white feature film God Willing (2006). The film competed for Best Film at over fifteen international film festivals worldwide, including at the Chicago International Film Festival, Miami Film Festival, Taipei Film Festival, and Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
In the commercial world, Chamdin has directed major international campaigns for brands such as H&M, IKEA, L'Oréal, Mango, Adidas, and The Andy Warhol Exhibition. In addition to his filmmaking career, Chamdin is a critically acclaimed musician and the frontman of the iconic hip-hop group Infinite Mass, which he co-founded in 1991.
Chamdin’s creative achievements have earned him numerous honours, including an induction into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame—cementing his status as one of Sweden’s most innovative and influential creative forces.
