Henrik Hellström

Henrik Hellström is a west-coast filmmaker based in Stockholm. He studied performing arts at Malmö Theatre Academy, a practice he brings to his craft.

Henrik's first feature Man tänker sitt/Burrowing received outstanding reviews both locally and internationally and opened at the Berlinale in 2009. The Financial Times wrote that “the 75-minute gem grew through invidious comparison with other films” and “a new kind of cinema grows before our eyes”. Henrik’s films are distinguished by their personal, poetic storytelling. He is a storyteller with a talent for creating strong tension and an eye for subtle details of expression. He is currently developing genre projects for a broader audience.
