Jane Magnusson
Jane Magnusson’s films have opened at film festivals such as Cannes, Sundance, Tribeca and Venice. She is a director, screenwriter and critic. Although educated in the US (Brown University) and Asia, she is based in Stockholm and works mainly in Sweden. Magnusson has focused on documentary portraits but has also worked on feature films and animation. She started her filmmaking career by portraying the all-male synchronised swim team she trained in the early 2000s.
Magnusson premiered a documentary in 2022 about a woman in Stockholm who shared her tiny apartment with 11 swans. Her television series about the iconic Swedish entertainer Evert Taube aired at Christmas 2021. Magnusson loves the ocean and all its creatures. She likes to swim and is a huge fan of Esther Williams.
