Lisa Aschan

 

Lisa Aschan is an award-winning director and screenwriter from the prestigious National Film School of Denmark. Lisa has worked in both film and TV, and is known for her originality in visual expression and her groundbreakingly unique portrayals of women.

Her feature debut, Apflickorna/She Monkeys, received rave reviews all over the world, winning the Best Feature Award at the Tribeca Film Festival, an Honourable Mention at the Berlin International Film Festival, and a Dragon Award at the Gothenburg Film Festival. The film was awarded three Guldbagge Awards for Best Film, Best Screenplay, and Best Sound Design.

In 2019, Ring mamma!/Call Mum! premiered. It is a comedy-drama about a mother-daughter relationship. It was acclaimed by both the press and the audience, who compared it to Fleabag and Better Things. Ring mamma! was nominated for both Best Screenplay and Best Female Actor at the Guldbagge Awards.

Tack och förlåt, Lisa’s latest feature, premiered on Netflix in December 2023 and was viewed over six million times worldwide during its first month on the streaming service.

Lisa is currently writing her fifth feature, as well as developing a drama series.
