Peter Grönlund

 

Peter Grönlund is an award-winning screenwriter and film director, whose main focus is socio-political themes. Peter’s outstanding characters and fascinating narratives create worlds that are impossible to resist.

Peter has written and directed numerous award-winning shorts. His first feature film, Tjuvheder/Drifters, had its world premiere in the New Directors Competition Program at San Sebastian in 2015. Tjuvheder/Drifters became the most critically acclaimed Swedish film of the year, awarded with five Guldbagge Awards (Swedish Academy Award).

His latest feature Goliat/Goliath premiered in 2018 and won four Guldbagge Awards. Peter also directed the series Björnstad/Beartown, which premiered in 2020 and is based on the best-selling book by Fredrik Backman.

Peter is currently working on his third feature while developing various projects, book adaptations and original ideas in collaboration with different production companies.
