EMMA HAMBERG

Emma Hamberg is a screenwriter, author and illustrator. She debuted as a screenwriter in 2007 with the feature Linas Kvällsbok/Bitter Sweetheart, based on her popular book of the same name. The feature follows fifteen-year-old Lina, who struggles with the exciting and uncomfortable feeling of stepping into the teenage world filled with expectations. Emma co-wrote the script with Erik Ahrnbom. The young adult dramady won an Honorable Mention at the Lübeck Nordic Film Days and was shown at prestigious film festivals around the world.

Emma co-created and wrote the storyline for all episodes of the popular dramady series Sommaren 85/Summer 85, which premiered on SVT in 2020. The story is inspired by Emma’s own upbringing in a small Swedish town and follows the loving, turbulent and complicated relationship between mothers and daughters.

Emma has written numerous books, including her feel-good novel Je m’appelle Agneta, published in 2021. The novel quickly climbed the bestseller charts, earning great reviews and selling over 100,000 copies. Je m’appelle Agneta was developed into a feature film by SF Studios and was released in 2026.

Emma is known for her great ability to create magnetic universes for her audience, often filled with love, sex, friendships and unfiltered emotions.
