HENRIK HELLSTRÖM grew up in Falkenberg making short films with a group of friends that later also became colleagues. He received an education in performing arts at Malmö Theatre Academy. Henrik's first feature ”Man tänker sitt” (”Burrowing”) received outstanding reviews both locally and internationally and opened at the Berlinale Film Festival 2009. Financial Times wrote ”A new kind of cinema grows before our eyes”.

Henrik’s films have been distinguished for their intense personal storytelling told in a poetic tone. He is a storyteller with a strong sense for both the extreme tension and the intense joy of life experienced only in the moment, and he is there to capture those excerpts of life.

He is currently developing movies in strong genres for a broader audience.
