HENRIK HELLSTRÖM

Henrik Hellström is a west coast filmmaker based in Stockholm. He received an education in performing arts at Malmö Theatre Academy, a practice he brings to his craft. Henrik's first feature ”Man tänker sitt/Burrowing” received outstanding reviews both locally and internationally and opened at the Berlinale Film Festival 2009. Financial Times wrote ”the 75-minute gem grew through invidious comparison with other films” and ”A new kind of cinema grows before our eyes”. Henrik’s films are distinguished for their personal storytelling told in a poetic tone. He is a storyteller with a sense for strong tension and an eye for subtle details of expression. He is currently developing genre-projects for a broader audience.
