MANI MASERRAT is a Swedish-Iranian director based in Stockholm. At age 13, Mani was sent to Stockholm by his parents to escape the Iranian regime and the Iran-Iraq war. He made his feature film debut with ”Ciao Bella” in 2007. The characters and story are based on his own experiences and deal with the hidden prejudice in Swedish society. The film competed at the Berlin Film Festival in 2008 and was selected to several major international film festivals, where it received awards and citations.

Mani then directed the tv-series “Våra vänners liv (“Our Friends’ Life”) and later the tv series Arne Dahl Ont Blod (“Arne Dahl Bad Blood”) which became an international success. Mani both produced and directed his second feature film “Vi” (“Us”) and the film went on to be part of the main competition at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival 2013.

Mani's latest work involves directing the international successful tv series “Modus”.
