MARI JUNGSTEDT

MARI JUNGSTEDT is a journalist and author, and her literary debut came in 2003 with the first novel about Commissioner Anders Knutas, set on Gotland. Since then, her books have sold more than 6.5 million copies in Sweden alone, and she has been published in over 20 different countries – making her one of Sweden’s most successful thriller authors. She’s been dubbed “One of Scandinavia’s best crime writers” by The Times, and rightly so.

THE KNUTAS SERIES has attracted a large and enthusiastic readership, and so has her GRAN CANARIA SERIES. Two years ago, Mari launched a new series – THE MÁLAGA SUITE – whose first part has so far sold more than 230,000 copies.

"When Mari Jungstedt has already written fifteen detective stories about commissioner Anders Knutas on Gotland ... it would make sense for it to become boring. But instead, she has developed into an increasingly confident suspense writer, with a strong sense of pace and a great ability to build unpleasant situations of horror."
