MATTIAS SKOGLUND is a filmmaker with several years of experience in directing, writing and producing for film and television. He has two master's degrees and a bachelor's degree in media and communication, audiovisual management and international business.
Most recently, together with filmmaker Levan Akin (And Then We Danced), he created the popular and critically acclaimed crime drama series "Dough" for SVT, starring Bianca Kronlöf, Helena af Sandberg and Johan Hedenberg. Mattias directed two episodes and co-wrote the series with Levan Akin and Sara Bergmark Elfgren. Praised for its unique blend of suspense, drama and comedy, Dough won the prestigious Kristallen (Swedish Emmy) for Best Drama Series in 2022.
Mattias' debut feature, the dark comedy thriller "Losers", which he wrote, directed and produced, won the Swedish Critics' Choice Award in Haugesund in 2014. Mattias has previously directed several award-winning radio and podcast dramas, most notably the hugely popular "Voices of the Dead", which Dagens Nyheter has hailed as a modern radio classic. The series, created by author Sara Bergmark Elfgren, was nominated for the Prix Europa in 2016.
In addition to "Losers", Mattias has produced a wide range of critically acclaimed projects such as the mystery drama series "Labyrinth", the family favourite "Mamma Moo & Crow" and co-produced Levan Akin's "And Then We Danced", which has received no less than 29 awards and 27 nominations from festivals around the world.
Mattias is currently directing a radio drama and developing a drama series. Next year he will direct the horror feature film "The Home", based on Mats Strandberg's bestselling book of the same name.
