MICHAELA HAMILTON is a screenwriter and author. She previously worked as a PR Manager at a large media house, a columnist in Veckorevyn and a senior consultant in advertising, and has released a poetry book for young adults. She is part Swedish, part Australian.

The Netflix feature ”En del av dig/A Part of You” written by and original idea by Michaela Hamilton, directed by Sigge Eklund and produced by SF Studios, will have its global release on Netflix in Spring 2024. Cast includes Swedish musical artist Zara Larsson, as well as Young Royals’ Edvin Ryding and Felicia Maxine. Michaela Hamilton, says: ”This story is deeply personal to me, as I lost my 19-year-old brother in an accident seven years ago. I felt compelled to write about both sides of loss - the immense pain of it, but also the love and hope that can emerge in the process. I’m honored to have this fantastic team bringing this script to life, and to be able to share it with a global audience on Netflix is truly a dream come true”.

SF Studios’ ”LasseMajas Detektivbyrå: Maskoten som försvann” written by Michaela Hamilton and David Wiberg will go into production Spring 2024. The film is based on the best selling Children’s book series LasseMajas Detektivbyrå (“The Whodunit Detective Agency”), to date 32 books have been published. To name a few other projects; “Paradis City”, adapted from Jens Lapidus (Snabba cash) bestselling novel, adapted and written by Michaela together with two other writers. Produced by Strive Stories for Amazon Prime. As well as a Christmas movie Title TBA produced by Breakable, greenlit and to be shot in 2024, for a major streamer.

Michaela is one of the new and most interesting voices in Swedish film and tv, working on a number of projects at major production companies, in different genres for a wide range of audiences. Michaela is now in late development of several feature films and tv series, spanning from cinema films to major streaming services. She is also in early development for an original feature film, as creator, screenwriter and director.

Her first screenplay work was as the only writer who worked on all four seasons of the hit young adult series ”Eagles” on SVT, nominated for two Kristallen Awards (Swedish Emmy Award) and a Venice TV Award for ”Best Drama”. Her original series ”Håll Andan/Hold Your Breath” premiered on TV4/CMore in 2021. Michaela wrote six out of eight episodes of “Zebrarummet/A Class Apart”, that premiered in 2021 on Viaplay.
