Tim Blanck is back in Palma, where his sixteen-year-old daughter disappeared on a hot August night during a party trip. He thought that he had reached the truth – that he had found out what had happened to her. But the tracks had led him astray, and now everything must start over again. Maybe she's alive – but if so, who is she now?

When the case gets picked up again in the media on the fifth anniversary of the disappearance, new clues present themselves to Tim. They bring him from Mallorca to the mainland, into a ruthless world of human trafficking. He is drawn deeper and deeper into his own darkness, and even though he suspects that he has become a pawn in a much bigger game, he is willing to sacrifice everything to find his daughter.

REVIEWS

"The depiction of the father's psyche and all of his thoughts moving in a broken soul is the book's strength; in general, Kallentoft's language is outstanding and saves this nail-biting inducing novel when the anchor of reality disappears into great depths. It only took one evening and a half night for me to finish the book. In terms of grading the novel, that speaks volumes.”
- C. Lundh, Mariestadstidningen

"Mons Kallentoft tells an exciting story focusing on how much a parent is willing to sacrifice to find their child. Even if it means breaking the law and joining forces with corrupt police and shady villains."
- Kenth Jönsson, Ölandsbladet newspaper

"The sequel to SEE ME FALL drags us even further into the darkness and lets the language reflect the father's desperate search for the daughter. Striking reading."
- Maria Näslund, GP newspaper

“Few are as skilled as Mons Kallentoft in portraying a kind of inner inferno. He has done so with the books about Malin Fors. In the previous novel, SEE ME FALL, Tim Blanck looked for his daughter who disappeared during a trip to Mallorca. In the new HEAR ME WHISPER, he feverishly continues to look for her. The case is picked up in the media again now that five years have passed, and some new clues appear – which he eagerly throws himself over. The disappointments, however, pile up and he falls deeper into the darkness. He realizes that he is a pawn in a game and that the supposed ‘allies’ are not really what they are pretending to be. It is a nerve-wracking story written in a feverish prose where Blanck's despair stays with the reader long after one has finished reading. It is clear that Kallentoft feels deeply for his main character.”
- Björn G Stenberg, Enköpings-Posten newspaper

REVIEWS

“WATCH ME FALL is constantly exciting and tells of a desperate struggle to find out the truth, with a father who risks everything for his daughter.”
- Ölandsbladet newspaper

"When Kallentoft leaves Linköping for Mallorca, he takes with him his characteristic narrator's voice; the language is unique, almost poetic, and stands out in the detective genre. A sixteen-year-old disappears while she’s out partying in Magaluf and three years later, her father is still looking. It is a nightmare story which takes place in a Palma beyond family-friendly beaches and fancy shopping streets – retaining a strong presence with every desperate step."
- Göteborgs-Posten newspaper

"Magnificent, Kallentoft.
It is a hot, sweaty and boundless existence Tim lives through in the search for his daughter, and as a reader it sometimes becomes unbearable and difficult to take in all the darkness. The language is, as usual, as magnificent as the environmental descriptions."
- Mariestadstidningen newspaper
