Patrik Ehrnst is an accomplished Swedish screenwriter and producer with a background in journalism. He has an extensive career in television, contributing to a range of successful drama and comedy series.
Ehrnst is the creator and head writer of the Netflix drama series Skiftet (also known as The New Force), which premiered in 2025 and explores the introduction of the first female police officers in Sweden in 1958. He also served as the head writer for the popular TV4 comedy series Solsidan in 2024.
His work on the SVT political satire Herr Talman includes roles as editor and screenwriter for the first season in 2022, and as a producer and screenwriter for its second season later that same year. The series uniquely uses puppetry to satirize Swedish political leaders.
As a producer, Ehrnst has been recognised with two Kristallen Awards for Best Comedy for the Kanal 5 series Partaj, where he was a producer for seasons 2, 3 and 4 (2012-2013).
Before his success in television, Patrik Ehrnst had a notable 15-year-long career as a journalist at Sveriges Radio. He also worked as a journalist and editor on Sommarkväll in 2011.
His other notable works include serving as creator, writer, and executive producer for the series Ambassadøren (2020). He was also a writer and producer for the comedy series Bastuklubben (2014). Additionally, Ehrnst was an editor for Elfte timmen (2010) and a producer for Settman på plats (2013). Ehrnst was listed for script development with FLX/SVT for 2025.
