Amanda Högberg
Amanda Högberg (b.1990) is a screenwriter with a unique voice. Her 2018 film Get Ready with Me won a Student Academy Award (“Student Oscar”) for Best Student Film. This graduation film is a psychological thriller with a humorous touch and an unexpected ending. It serves as a great example of Amanda's strengths as a screenwriter.
Amanda has a background in the performing arts, as an actress, dancer and choreographer. Her wide-ranging interests touch on everything from writing coming-of-age stories to creating mystery-horror. She is drawn to American indie films, and is especially skilled in character-driven dramas with dark, witty humour. One of her strengths is finding a unique perspective in any given story, using that perspective to create characters and plots that feel fresh and original without losing believability.
Amanda has written episodes for director Lisa Langseth’s beloved original series Kärlek och anarki/Love and Anarchy on Netflix. She was also the head writer for Vuxna människor on TV4, co-writing the series with Daniel Karlsson. Amanda has written episodes for the book adaptation Halva Malmö består av killar som dumpat mig for Netflix.
Amanda is currently developing a series for Prime Video, as well as serving as head writer on a new drama series for Netflix.
