Henrik Engström started his career in 2003, when he was writing for children. He has since worked regularly as a screenwriter and script consultant across a wide range of genres and formats, including adaptations and features. Henrik recognises that stories are always built from character, and it is from his curiosity about human psychology and relationships that he draws inspiration for his sole ambition: to tell moving stories.

Henrik’s recent projects include Estonia (2023), on which he served as a script consultant. Henrik is also currently working as co-head writer on a crime drama series adaptation of a book for a Swedish production company.

Henrik has had a long and successful collaboration with the screenwriter Mattias Grosin. They have worked on three feature films in the LasseMaja-universe: LasseMaja och Första mysteriet (2018), LasseMaja och Tågrånarens hemlighet (2020), and LasseMaja och Skorpionens gåta (2022). All LasseMaja-features are produced by SF Studios.

Henrik and Mattias also wrote Season 1 of Rebecka Martinsson, a series produced by Yellowbird for TV4/C More.
