Lukas Moodysson is one of Sweden’s most acclaimed filmmakers, poets, and authors. He made his directorial debut with Fucking Åmål in 1998. In 2000, Tillsammans premiered, and since then he has written and directed several films, including Mammut, Vi är bäst! and Tillsammans 99. Moodysson also wrote and directed the drama series Gösta for HBO Nordic. He is currently developing his next two feature films.

Throughout his career, Moodysson has been honoured with multiple awards, including five Guldbagge Awards. Most recently, he received the Czech Film Clubs’ Honorary Award for his lifetime achievement in filmmaking.

In addition to his work in film, Moodysson is an accomplished writer who has published several poetry collections. His latest novel, Rebellerna, was published by Wahlström & Widstrand in the spring of 2026.
