Michaela Hamilton is a screenwriter and author. She previously worked as a PR manager at a large media house, a columnist for Veckorevyn, and a senior consultant in advertising. She has also released a poetry book for young adults. She is of Swedish and Australian descent.

The Netflix feature film En del av dig/A Part of You, based on an original idea and written by Michaela Hamilton, directed by Sigge Eklund and produced by SF Studios, had its global release on Netflix in 2024. The cast includes Swedish musical artist Zara Larsson, as well as Young Royals’ Edvin Ryding and Felicia Maxime. Michaela Hamilton says: ”This story is deeply personal to me, as I lost my 19-year-old brother in an accident seven years ago. I felt compelled to write about both sides of loss – the immense pain of it, but also the love and hope that can emerge in the process. I’m honored to have this fantastic team bringing this script to life, and to be able to share it with a global audience on Netflix is truly a dream come true”.

In 2024, SF Studios’ LasseMajas Detektivbyrå: Maskoten som försvann was released, co-written by Michaela Hamilton and David Wiberg. Michaela has also adapted and written Paradis City, based on Jens Lapidus’ (Snabba cash) bestselling novel, together with two other writers.

Michaela is one of the new and most interesting voices in Swedish film and TV, working on a number of projects for major production companies, across different genres and for a wide range of audiences. Michaela is currently working on several feature films and TV series that are in late development, destined for both cinema releases and major streaming services. She is also in early development on an original feature film as a creator, screenwriter and director.

Her debut as a screenwriter came as the only writer who worked on all four seasons of the hit young adult series Eagles, which was nominated for two Kristallen Awards (Swedish Emmy Award) and a Venice TV Award for Best Drama.
