ALICIA HANSEN is a screenwriter and director, educated at Alma Education and Stockholm University of the Arts. Together with Stina Eriksson, she runs the independent production company Prolaps Produktion.

At the moment, Alicia is working on her debut feature “Dårar och barn”, as writer and director. The film is a dramedy about a woman who escapes her own pregnancy. The feature was selected by Nordic Film Lab at Gothenburg Film Festival in 2022. “Dårar och barn” (working title) was also selected to participate in Film Stockholm's talent program in 2022.

Prolaps Produktion (Alicia Hansen and Stina Eriksson) has during its first year, received funding by both Film i Väst and Film Stockholm, as well as won the Swedish Film Institute's “Wild Card” award. Prolaps’ slate includes two upcoming features by directors Alecios Araci and Simone Norberg. The company also co-produces the feature film “Armand” by Halfan Tøndel, which is produced by seasoned Norwegian Production company Eye Eye Pictures (Joachim Trier’s “The Worst Person in the World”).

When it comes to filmmaking, Alicia is drawn to stories about human relationships and how people interact depending on power, class and gender. She has a fondness for dark comedy and loves to write witty dialogue. With a background as a script consultant she enjoys working with structure, story and dramaturgy simultaneously. She is interested in writing her own projects, as well as with others in a writers room/collaboration. Alicia is interested in writing and directing in a wide range of genres, including crime, thriller and young adult. A dream project would be a dark, raw and deeply entertaining Christmas movie.

In 2015, Alicia made the porn film “Female Fantasy”, together with author Zara Kjellner, which received a great media buzz and premiered at Kulturhuset in Stockholm. Alicia also started the Instagram account “Lit City” which later turned into short film, funded by the Swedish Film Institute and Film Stockholm and produced by award-winning production company French Quarter Film (Anna Odell’s “The Reunion” and Levan Akin’s “And Then We Danced”).

2019-2021 Alicia worked at French Quarter Film as Junior Producer, focusing on both production and script development. She worked on productions like the tv series “Drugdealer” (2021) by Isabella Rodriguez and Jonatan Unge for SVT. As well as produced the short film “Tjena Tjavo” by Alecio Araci, which premiered at GIFF 2023.
