A much-longed for retrospective on a pioneering and era-defining filmmaker

The Swedish film director Roy Andersson has created his own cinematic universe with unique imagery and drastic humor. Here is the richly illustrated story of his world: the upbringing in Gothenburg, the film school years during the politically turbulent late 1960s, the breakthrough with A Love Story, the creation of the beloved commercials and, finally, the comeback with the late feature films.
