JOSEFINE ADOLFSSON is a writer, playwright, documentary filmmaker and journalist who enjoys mixing fiction with reality. Her spectrum is broad – she works in both film tv, as well as with books, radio theatre/podcast drama as well as the performing arts.
Josefine is amongst other things, working as script consultant on several projects, she has worked with writer/director Malin Ingrid Johansson's short film “Madden” and now her upcoming short film “Däck 5”. She has previously consulted on e.g. Ninja Thyberg’s “Pleasure”. She has also script consulted for projects by writers/directors Dea Saracevic, Elina Sahlin, Inga Kempe and Lisa Meyer.
Josefine loves clever, dark humor and has an eye for the absurd, poetic and existential, her starting point is often everyday life and the human condition. She appreciates classic dramaturgy and spot on genres – but finds it equally interesting to play with expectations, rhythm and tone, in the search for new and surprising perspectives.
Among other things, Josefine Adolfsson is behind the idea and the screenwriter for “Apflickorna/The She Monkeys”, the film won two Guldbaggar (Swedish Academy Award) for best script and best film, as well as Best Narrative Feature at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
She also wrote the script for “SWAT – She's Wild Again Tonight” (a rebooted version of August Strindberg's play “Miss Julie”). The project consisting of a film, a book and original music was made in collaboration with director and fine artist Fia-Stina Sandlund and actors and musical artists Shima Niavarani and Gustaf Norén.
